Karen Lacroix Mealing

Karen Lacroix Mealing earned a B.F.A. in Photography from the University of Ottawa.  She has utilized colour, black and white and a variety of non-silver processes and works extensively with Polaroid transfers and Polaroid emulsion lifts.  In a digital age, she continues to use slide film and has her work enlarged as cibachrome prints.  She may be reached at tkom@rogers.com.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Diane Soward

Diane has been working with acrylics for several years. Her favourite type of art is realism but she is starting to try her brush at impressionism and abstract. She paints mostly landscapes (especially the spectacular rocky terrain and swept pines of Georgian Bay) but also paints still life and other subjects. Murray Van Halem has been a visual artist for over 40 years, his first 20 years as a professional large-format commercial photographer and photojournalist.  Murray Van Halem is a new member of Quest and a recent arrival to the Georgian Bay area. Kathleen Buchan

Kathleen has painted for as long as she can remember. Her journey started with art lessons at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art & Commercial Art at Concordia University in Montreal.  She has shown her work in group & solo shows in Canada & USA. Although she paints in all media, she prefers to teach oil painting. Besides group & private lessons, she has taught at Conestoga College & Georgian College in Ontario. A class is being offered in oil painting for beginners at Quest School of Art + Gallery in August 2010.

I started sketching, years ago when I was a teenager and I enjoy it very much.  I sketch birds, animals and people.
I started painting with watercolours, too. I like to paint scenery. I'd like to keep painting and sketching in the future.
